Companies

The Companies section is the top-level hierarchy within the platform. All data and user activity are structured beneath a company — every Project, User, Dashboard, and Custom Widget belongs to a single company.

Purpose

Companies serve as isolated containers for data and users. Each company contains:

  • Its own set of Users
  • Its own set of Projects
  • All related data and tools specific to that company

This structure ensures complete data separation between companies.

Access

Only site administrators (e.g., LSD staff) have access to the Companies page. Regular company users cannot view or access other companies' data under any circumstances.

Company Rules

  • Every User belongs to one (and only one) company
  • Every Project belongs to one company
  • All data within a project or user account is tied to that company
  • Users of a company will never be shown data from another company
  • LSD Staff (admins) are the only users who can access and manage multiple companies

The Companies page is accessible via the main sidebar at the root level of the app (alongside Projects and Users).

Companies Table

The table displays all companies currently in the system with the following columns:

  • Name: The full name of the company
  • Alias: A shorthand label used in various views
  • Projects: Total number of projects associated with this company
  • Users: Total number of users in this company
  • Edit: Opens a modal to edit or delete the company

Managing Companies

Add Company

Use the Add Company button to create a new entry. The creation modal includes:

  • Company Name (required)
  • Alias (required)

A company logo field will be added in a future update.

Edit or Delete

Click the Edit button in the table to:

  • Change the company’s name or alias
  • Delete the company (if necessary)

⚠️ Deleting a company will remove all associated users projects and their associated data. This action is restricted to administrators.

Platform Requirements

  • When creating a project or inviting a user, a company must be assigned
  • The company association governs what data a user can access
