Attachment Widget

The Attachment widget allows you to surface important documents directly on a dashboard. It’s ideal for highlighting static reports, reference material, or visual assets like charts and images.

Purpose

Use the Attachment widget when you need to:

  • Pin critical reference files to a dashboard
  • Share a PDF report or infographic with a team
  • Provide inline access to a downloadable document

Creating an Attachment Widget

In addition to the standard widget setup fields (see “Widget Creation Process” in the About Widgets page), you will also see:

  • File Upload:
  • Drag and drop a file or upload from your device
  • One file per widget

File Support & Display Behavior

  • PDFs: Inline preview + download button
  • Images: Rendered inline (no download)
  • Excel / CSV: Filename + download button (no preview)

Files uploaded here are not connected to the Files section of the project.

Using the Widget

Once created, the widget displays:

  • File preview or filename, depending on type
  • Optional description or text
  • Download options where applicable
