Search

The Search functionality on Intellicentral provides a fast, categorized way to locate dashboards, files, and email alerts from anywhere in the application.


Where Search Is Located

  • The search bar is always accessible in the top navigation bar.
  • It appears on every page after logging in, regardless of where you are in the platform.

Search Scope (Breadcrumb-Based)

Search respects the breadcrumb level to determine its scope:

  • Outside a project: Searches across all accessible projects.
  • Inside a project: Searches only within that project, regardless of whether you're in a dashboard, file view, or email alert page.

This ensures results are relevant to the user’s current context without being overly broad.


Search Behavior

As the user types, a dynamic dropdown appears beneath the search bar showing live results.

Results are categorized into three rows:

  • Dashboards
  • Files & Email Alerts

Each category displays relevant matches inline, allowing for quick access.

Search Criteria

Search matches are based on:

  • Item name (for all items)
  • Tags associated with the item
  • Description/Subject (for email alerts and widgets)

⚠️ Note: The search currently does not index or parse the full content of files, widgets, or email alerts.


Full Search Results Page

If the user presses Enter, they’re taken to a dedicated search results page.

  • Results remain grouped under the same three categories.
  • Each result is shown with their original information that would be shown on their respected page such as status, last updated, File size, etc.

This allows for deeper exploration when the live dropdown isn’t sufficient.
