Tags¶
Tags are simple, text-based labels used across Intellicentral to help internally organize and track content. They are primarily used to enhance searchability and link related items together throughout the platform.
Purpose of Tags¶
Tags serve as lightweight metadata, enabling users to:
- Quickly find related items using the Search tool
- Categorize content for easier browsing
- Apply internal identifiers (e.g., by topic, quarter, team, etc.)
An item can contain multiple tags, and tags can be added, removed, or edited at any time depending on user permissions.
Where Tags Are Used¶
Tags can be applied to the following types of items:
- Files
- Email Alerts
- Widgets (of any type)
Each of these items includes a Tags input field when being created or edited.
Impact on Search¶
When you perform a search on the platform, the search algorithm considers tags associated with items in addition to their titles and descriptions—helping surface more relevant results.
